NIGER Delta Avengers, NDA, shifted its hostilities from Delta State to Rivers State, Wednesday, blowing up a Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline at Eleme leading to the Nigeria Liquefied National Gas, NLNG in the state.

The militant group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying on its Facebook page Niger Delta Avengers: “By 3.00 am, yesterday, strike team 2, carried out a major strike, bombing NNPC pipeline at Eleme leading to NLNG. You won’t stop us.”

Prostitute Attempts To Seduce Magistrate In Calaba

CALABAR— A sex worker, who failed to show up in court last week Friday, caused a stir at the Magistrate’s Court, Monday, when she could not seduce the magistrate, who then ordered her remanded at Afokang Prison, Calabar, for jumping bail.

The Bayelsa State-born sex worker, Princess, was reportedly arrested alongside her colleagues at the Moonshine Brothel, located at Uwanse two weeks ago in the wake of the clamp down on sex workers and hoodlums, following rising crime wave in Calabar.

She was reportedly brought before the magistrate and granted bail, but when the case came up for hearing last week Friday, she failed to show up, prompting Magistrate Joseph Ibi to order her arrest.

It was learned that police effected her arrest and took her to court on Monday to give reasons why she did not show up in court on the day of adjournment as requested by the magistrate.

Stella Oduah Has No Female Housemaid - SEAIL

A group known as the South East Association of Igbo Ladies, SEAIL, have stated that the senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Stella Oduah, has no female housemaid.

Reports in the media said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has discovered the sum of N2.5bn in an account opened in the name of an unnamed housemaid of the Senator.

Managing Director of Ontario Oil and Gas Limited, Walter Wagbatsoma, has been extradited to the United Kingdom where he is facing money laundering charges.

According to a UK-based newspaper, Lincolnshire Echo, Wagbatsoma who was extradited from Germany, was accused of money laundering in a multi-million pound fraud. He appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Fayose’s Bank Account Remains Frozen, As Court Adjourns To Sept 30

Ado-Ekiti- The Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, failed to order the unfreezing of two accounts belonging and operated by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State with Zenith Bank, adjourning hearing in the case involving the governor and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC till September 30, 2016.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo adjourned the case till September 30 on the request of Fayose’s counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who sought for adjournment to be able to respond to issues raised by the EFCC in its reply to a motion on notice dated 23rd June, 2016 wherein the applicant sought an order lifting the restriction placed on Fayose’s accounts with Zenith bank .

The EFCC’s counter position was supported with 10-paragraph affidavits and a lone exhibit by the EFCC counsel, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo.

‘ex Boyfriend Murdered My Fiancée,’ Businessman Tells Court

A businessman, Uchechukwu Orji, yesterday told a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, that his fiancée, simply called ‘Ijeoma’, was allegedly murdered by her ex boyfriend, Ifeanyi Christian.

Orji, who testified yesterday as the second prosecution witness in Christian’s trial before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, said Ijeoma, 26, was declared missing on January 12, 2013, but was found dead four days later.

Christian, an apprentice spare parts trader at ASPAMDA, Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, Lagos is being prosecuted by the state for Ijeoma’s death.

Led in evidence by State Counsel, Mrs A. A. Saromi, Orji said he was formally engaged to the deceased, who was a food vendor, and that they had made plans to get married.

Barely one week after a woman severed her stepson’s joystick; another woman has been arrested for trying to kill a two-hour old baby boy in Kopa village in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State.

The 25-year-old suspect, Bilkisu Adamu Isah, said to be the second wife to the father of the little baby, was alleged to have committed the offence on Wednesday at about 7am.

It was learnt that at about 5am on the fateful morning the mother of the child, Suwebatu Kohageuto, who is also the senior wife, had been delivered of the baby boy.

And barely two hours after the birth of the child, the suspect, Bilkisu Adamu Isah, was allegedly left alone to look after the new born baby in order to allow Suwebatu have her bath few hours after the umbilical cord of the baby had been separated from him.
