This followed the resignation of former team captain Sunday Oliseh from his post, this morning, as the head coach of the Super Eagles.
A statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Friday evening said Siasia will work with Salisu Yusuf, FIFA U-17 World Cup –winner Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
The statement by NFF media Officer, Ademola Olajire added that the combination was recommended by the NFF Technical and Development Committee.
Siasia served as Super Eagles’ Head Coach between December 2010 and October 2011, before his contract was terminated following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Amuneke led the Nigeria U-17 boys to a fifth FIFA World Cup title in Chile last year and was hailed for his excellent comportment and maturity, as well as the tremendous skills of his players.
