According to the Hartford Courant.
Last week, a New York jury awarded Lastonia Leviston $5 million in damages after determining that the rapper didn't have her permission when he posted a sex tape online that she made with her boyfriend back in 2009.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy the same day that the jury was scheduled to consider punitive damages against him.
The filing temporarily stalled the civil trial but Levinston's attorneys requested a hearing to have the punitive portion of the trial continue.
In her ruling, Judge Anne M. Nevins called 50 out for trying to get the state case moved to federal court, saying he was “quite persistent in his efforts” and that he made “two attempts to remove the state court case to the United States District Court” in the past several weeks.
The jury will consider punitive damages on Monday.
