She's best-known for playing trumpet-wielding Sonia Fowler in much-loved soap EastEnders, but actress, Natalie Cassidy looks totally different to the character she played for almost 20 years.

No doubt the show's writers will have to think up some new storylines for Natalie's return in January, because she's transformed from the frumpy character she played seven years ago.
Looking slim and smily in her lycra workout gear, Natalie looks like she has put a lot of effort into her new and improved figure.

The 30-year-old wore black Nike leggings and a black vest top with a neon orange trim for her day out and she had carefully co-ordinated her orange and grey trainers to match her look
The mother-of-one stepped out without a scrap of make-up on her face and her hair tied back, proving that the only accessory you need is a smile.
But who knows what her fiancé, Adam Cottrell makes of her new svelte physique?

For some reason, Natalie had chosen to move her diamond engagement ring from her left-hand to the right, sparking speculation that she might have postponed her wedding plans.
Regardless, the star has a lot to look forward to; she made her last guest appearance in EastEnders in  2011 and is now set to make a full-time return, accompanied by her character's daughter Rebecca.
The BBC said she will be involved in a 'gripping storyline' which will centre on the women of the Butcher household.

And it sounds like Natalie can't wait to get stuck-in.
She said: 'After seven years being out of the show, apart from the odd episode, I am extremely excited and honoured to be making a full-time return.
'I feel so lucky as an actress to get back to my roots. With Dominic as executive producer, it's such an exciting time for the show. I cannot wait to work with Patsy (Palmer - Bianca) and Lindsey (Coulson - Carol) again. Bring it on.'

Natalie has battled with her weight over the last few years but seems to have finally found a size she is comfortable with.
She has been busy working on her second workout video with fitness expert Nikki O'Connell, which will focus on how to lose weight gradually and in a healthy manner.
Natalie recently tweeted: 'So shooting the front cover of my fitness DVD today.. Look out it'll be ready to pre order very soon! #real'

She has also starred in theatre productions of The Vagina Monologues and The Cherry Orchard and she'll be doing a spot of panto at the Thameside theatre in Essex before she's back on our screens in the new year.
Natalie will be playing Fairy Meadows in their production of Jack And The Beanstalk from December 6th and the giddy actress is so excited, she tweeted that she's 'counting down the days,' until she starts.
