Sad: Helena Bonham Carter spotted out in North London this afternoon after pictures showing her husband Tim Burton kissing a mystery blonde.

She's famed for her award-winning performances, but Helena Bonham Carter didn't appear to attempt hiding her feelings on Thursday.

Wearing a tartan skirt and a green cashmere jumper, the Hollywood star looked tired and dishevelled as she emerged from a friend's car in North London, in the early afternoon, after pictures emerged of her long-term partner Tim Burton in an apparent embrace with a mystery woman.
Shielding her eyes with a pair of heavy-duty, designer sunglasses, the 47 year-old also appeared pale and downbeat as she retreated into her home.

Her long-term partner, director Tim Burton, was recently spotted embracing a mystery woman following a cinema date at the end of September.
The 55-year-old, who has been in a long term relationship with Bonham Carter for 12 years, was caught on camera as they returned to their car after watching cult film The Wicker Man.
MailOnline has made repeated attempts to contact representatives for both Tim and Helena to comment on the images.

While Tim and his actress partner are known for their unconventional relationship – they live in neighbouring houses – they are believed to be very much together.
The couple were last seen together in public in March of this year when they attended an event with their children Billy and Nell, just days after they went to a Save The Children fundraiser together looking very much still a couple.
In the images of Tim's evening out with the mystery woman, first published on the New York Post, the Edward Scissorhands director is dressed down in jeans and a jacket as he follows the blonde, who looks younger than him, into the cinema.

Tim is instantly recognisable in the images due to his famous mop of curly hair and facial hair.
As they leave the cinema, the pair appear to enjoy an embrace and what seems to be a kiss before they get into the same car together.
A source told the MailOnline: 'They stopped in an alley to kiss before making their way back to her car together.'
Tim fell for Helena, 47, when she was one of the hairier cast members in his remake of Planet Of The Apes and since then he has said he found her 'most attractive' when she was in character as Ari.

The couple, who have worked on numerous films together since including Alice in Wonderland, were soon nicknamed Mr and Mrs Mad Hatter when they purchased two houses next to each other to live in.
The two studio houses are joined by a ground level communal room, which is essentially a very grand hallway.
More recently, a third home was purchased in the street which is home to the nanny and the couple's two children.
In the interview, which was published in Febuary 2010, Helena said more than once that she feels 'very lucky' to have met Burton and had children with him.
'It's really enchanting. It's such a nice life and we have fun. Tim is a great find. I think our sensibilities go well together. He is dynamic and funny, and we are soulmates.
'When we finally started going out, people were like: "How come it took so long for you to see it?" But I suppose for a long time I didn't look at him in that way. Now it's like: "Oh, of course it had to be him."'
Tim was previously married to German-born artist Lena Gieseke whom he left for actress Lisa Marie - who starred in number of his films during their relationship from 1992- 2001.
Unconventional relationship: The pair famously live separately - but in neighbouring houses - in London's affluent Hampstead.
