In order to beat the deadline set by President Muhammedu Buhari to end insurgency in the country, the Nigeria Army has released images of some of the most wanted suspects of the sect (Boko Haram)

The images of the wanted sect members were today, boldly shown on a banner and were displayed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt – Gen. Tukur Buratai among other officers.

Inscription on the banner however urged Nigerians to report to the Army if any of the persons on the banner is seen anywhere in public.

Seven graduating students of UNIZIK have constructed a “made in Nigeria” mini bus

 

EKWULOBI VICE Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka , Prof. Joseph Ahaneku is a happy man now following the feat achieved by his students. This was because the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the university had again proved that it was not just good in theory but also in the practical aspect of their studies.  Seven graduating students from the department constructed a “made in Nigeria” mini bus to the satisfaction of the university community. 

The journey into car manufacturing in the university started last year, when a group of five students from the same department produced aFormula 1 car called AutoZIK. The seven students include Ezeigwe Chitoo, Obinani Victor, Ezeanolue Ifeanyi, Okoro Chinaza, Ominigbo Fidelis, Nwobodo Nnamdi  and Ogbu Thaddeus. 

They were supervised by the Head of the department, Dr. C.H. Achebe. South East Voice learned that the group, which is known as ‘AUTOZIK II,’ spent over five months constructing the mini bus for shuttles within and around the university with locally sourced materials.

Like the popular saying, “What a man can do, a woman can do even better,” the conspicuous presence of a female, ‘Okoro Chinaza’ in the team spoke volumes. On how she was able to surmount the challenges as the only female in the midst of her male counterparts with respect to the stress associated with such herculean tasks, she said: “I had always been in their midst right from my first year in school, so it was not really a big deal.”

She disclosed that she had always followed her passion regardless of what people around said or thought.  Narrating the success story, one of the engineers, Ezeigwe Chitoo, said that the project was a dream come true.  “The Autozik group made the design using CAD software, and all necessary simulation softwares for the analysis, putting the environment into critical consideration. The bus has good seating positions, better fuel conservation, good passenger view and very good aesthetics. It was built to suit the topography of our environment and the weather condition we have in this part of the world,” he said.

Khloe Kardashian has spoken out for the first time since her estranged husband Lamar Odom was hospitalised following a drugs binge at a brothel in Nevada.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has, in an interview with People magazine, referred to the constant rumours that she and the former NBA star will reunite after she called off their divorce.

But she has confessed that they will not be getting back together just yet, despite holding off on proceedings - she only did this in order to be able to make medical decisions for him while in a life-threatening condition. 

'I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it,' the 31-year-old told the magazine. 'For medical decisions and a ton of other things, it's just smarter that it's put on hold. 

'But that does not mean I'm back with Lamar. It's not even in our brains to think about us having a relationship. Only time will tell.' 

Although she denied a reconciliation - a topic that has been heavily-contested over the past couple of weeks while she remains by his bedside - Khloe did confess to still having strong feelings for her ex.

Four fake soldiers arrested at Idi Araba, Agege and Mile 2 areas of lagos state

 

 Four fake soldiers arrested at 3 different places in Lagos were paraded yesterday by CP Fatai Owoseni.

The suspects identified as 25-year-old John Izunwanne, 23-year-old John Otu, 22-year-old Richard Acha and 39-year-old Simon Anthony were caught with army camouflage uniforms, boots, belts and jungle hats.

Anthony who was dismissed from service in January 2014 wore his uniform to avoid paying transport fare but unfortunately, he was arrested by soldiers.

Acha a Benue-born welder got into trouble after he wore his army brother’s camouflage T-shirt.

“I wore it. I was arrested for wearing the army T-shirt,” he said.

The 3rd suspect Izunwanne said he bought the army uniform at Ojo Cantonment on September 2

The last suspect, a member of Peace & First Aid Missions in Nigeria, John Otu went to secure his friend’s bail only to be arrested for wearing an army uniform.

 “I wanted to go and sign my army recruitment form at Ojo Barracks when I bought the uniform at the Mammy Market. However, on October 7, my friend had a court case and I was to appear in court as a witness. The court was in Agege and I did not have the transport fare to go, so, I decided to wear my uniform to save me the cost of transportation.” – said Otu
