Cate Blanchett shows some skin in unusual black gown at London première of Blue Jasmine

When it comes to premieres, many actresses showed off some cleavage or back in their plunging gowns.
However, Cate Blanchett decided to strike out of the red carpet cliches as she showed of some major shoulder at her latest screening.

The Australian actress opted for an unusual black Givenchy halterneck gown with bronze detailing as she arrived at the London premiere of Blue Jasmine.

Also at the premiere was her Engilsh co-star Sally Hawkins, who plays her sister in the movie, which is directed by Woody Allen.
Speaking about the Oscar buzz surrounding her performance in the movie, Cate told the Sydney Daily Telegraph recently: 'It's nice but what month are we in? That's shorthand for people saying they liked the character.'
The film, Allen's 44th, stars Cate as a New York socialite Jasmine, who suffers a nervous breakdown and goes to live with her sister Ginger (Hawkins).
